Dear HFCS Friends and Families,
I am deeply grateful for our families here at HFCS and our extended families through the many parishes in Northern Idaho. We are truly blessed to be able to work and worship together, embodying the spirit of St. Theresa of Lisieux, who taught us the importance of doing small things with great love.
Our recent Hawktoberfest was a testament to this spirit of community and service. I extend my heartfelt thanks to our Hawktoberfest Chair, and her dedicated volunteers who made this past weekend truly remarkable. As I wandered through the festival, I was delighted to see joy-filled faces everywhere – a beautiful reflection of St. Theresa’s “Little Way” of finding God in everyday moments.
I’d like to express my gratitude to all the volunteers who contributed to the event’s success, and to everyone who joined us in fellowship. Your presence and participation made the day truly blessed. Special thanks to our Knights of Columbus for providing security and our outstanding CDA First Responder teams for ensuring a memorable and safe experience.
As we enter another busy week, I encourage you to follow St. Theresa’s example by finding moments of rest and reflection in Christ amidst our daily activities. Please feel welcome to visit our chapel for a quiet moment with Christ when dropping off or picking up your children. On Tuesday mornings after opening, our Moms in Prayer group dedicates an hour to prayer – consider joining us for this spiritually nourishing time. As St. Theresa reminds us, “For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love.”
Remember, your heart will truly find respite in God. Let us continue to support one another and grow in faith, inspired by the humble and loving example of St. Theresa of Lisieux.
With blessings and gratitude to all our HFCS families and parishioners of St. George, St. Thomas, and St. Pius.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
