Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Dear HFCS Families and Friends,
Each Lent we focus again on hearing and pondering God’s word. Carefully listening to that WORD is a lifelong task we need to encourage and share with our children. Divine love appears as unconditional forgiveness. This is the type of love that we aspire to as we pray the Our Father. Hope, confidence and security are planted in our hearts, when we pray together as a family and a community.
This year, let’s make Lent special, a time for the Gospel to fill our lives. In the Our Father, Jesus is urging us to focus on God’s will above our own preferences. The Lord’s Prayer encourages us to pray about fundamental needs, both material and spiritual. We pray the Lord’s prayer as members of a community of faith. True prayer is always going out of ourselves towards God and towards others.
Blessings to you and yours especially during this holy season.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
