Dear HFCS Families & Friends,
Pax et bonum,
Our Catholic tradition beautifully illuminates the profound meaning of thanksgiving. The Catechism reminds us that the Eucharist is fundamentally an act of gratitude—a sacred moment of acknowledging God’s transformative works of creation, redemption, and sanctification.
This month, our school community embodies the value of service through intentional acts of love and generosity. We invite our families to participate in our Food Collection drive, coordinated by our Student Council and the Knights of Columbus at St. George Parish. By sharing our resources, we extend Christ’s love to those in need and transform thanksgiving from a personal sentiment into a communal expression of compassion.
Our calling transcends mere gratitude; we are invited to become instruments of God’s boundless love. In giving thanks, we learn to love more deeply, reflecting the redemptive mission of Jesus Christ—Love Incarnate—in a world yearning for authentic connection and spiritual nourishment.
Celebrating Our Community’s Achievements:
– Our 8th graders delivered an exceptional Saints Wax Museum, masterfully guided by Mrs. Johnson. Their preparation and joyful presentations beautifully honored the lives of holy men and women.
– Congratulations to Kathy Sells and Cindy Budd for securing an educational grant from the Idaho CapEd Foundation, which will provide an EZ Shake Table for our middle school science lab.
– We extend heartfelt appreciation to our 6th grade, Miss Sanchez, and room parents for orchestrating a meaningful Veterans Day Mass that honored our community’s veterans with dignity and respect.
Each of these moments represents our school’s commitment to nurturing minds, hearts, and spirits—transforming thanksgiving into a lived experience of faith, learning, and service.
