Staying Alert to the Word of God

Dear HFCS Families & Friends,

Today’s Gospel offers us a powerful reminder to remain vigilant to God’s message. Jesus attempts to prepare His disciples for what lies ahead, yet their own preoccupations prevent them from fully grasping His teachings.

In His wisdom, Jesus reminds us: *”Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me, but He who sent me.”* This profound statement highlights the pure, unconditional nature of a child’s faith—one that is absolute, without judgment, and filled with true love. Our children’s faithful devotion to God provides a beautiful model for our own spiritual journeys.

As we approach the Lenten season, let us commit to remaining alert to God’s Word and the messages He sends.

This Saturday, we will host our annual Father-Daughter Dance. We hope you and your family will join us for an evening filled with music and joy. Please see below for additional details. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to PIE and all their dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to make this memorable event possible.

Pax et bonum,

Sue Styren, M.Ed.
