Dear HFCS Friends and Families,
As we continue through this 5th Week of Lent, today we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Gospel reminds us of the difficulties St. Joseph faced along with Mary throughout their journey “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home…She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” (Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a).
As parents, we face many challenges guiding our children in faith and academics. As we deepen our understanding of Christ and accept Him as our Savior – we help our children to do the same. The difference between those that believe and those that do not is simply faith.
Faith is a gift. It’s not just a blind choice to believe. It’s made possible by God. In this Lenten season we are asked to seek the grace of faith so that our Lord’s words may powerfully transform our lives.
My mysterious Lord, Your teaching about Who You are is beyond human reason alone. It is deep, mysterious and glorious beyond all understanding. Please give me the gift of faith so that I may come to know Who You are as I ponder the richness of Your holy Word. I believe in You, dear Lord. Jesus, I trust in You.
Blessings to you and yours especially during this holy season.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
