Blessings from second grade! My name is Tineke Murphy. I am filled with great joy to be a member of Holy Family Catholic School. I am gifted the opportunity to partner with all of the community members to inspire children to learn the Catholic faith, be good citizens, follow their dreams, and find joy in what they accomplish.
Before my position at HFCS, I took a nine-year sabbatical from sixth grade at Meadow Ridge Elementary in Kent, Washington, to stay home and raise our three beautiful children through their formative years. During this time, I supported my husband’s law practice. I remained active in volunteer and service throughout the greater Lake Tapps and Sumner community, including administering kindergarten and second-grade faith formation at our local parish. I received my Master’s Degree in Education at Syracuse University after attending the University of Denver and Colorado Mountain College for undergraduate studies. I met the love of my life and best friend at Lakeland High School almost 30 years ago, and I feel blessed to say that I married my high school sweetheart.
When I am not at work within the HFCS community, I enjoy spending time with my extended family and friends. You might find me taking in some of God’s blessings on a local hiking, biking, running, or skiing trail, in the garden, in the water, or camping in our beautiful great outdoors.
