Message From the Principal

Dear HFCS Friends and Families,

Especially in this Lenten season, we are reminded to look inward and assess ourselves, how have we strayed away from God, and more importantly, how do we draw nearer to God. As we pray the “Our Father”, we ask God to “forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.” Sometimes, the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. As we journey through this season, let’s help each other to look towards Christ through the Sacrament of Reconciliation to not only ask for forgiveness but to forgive ourselves – and help our children learn how to forgive.

Congratulations to all our second graders who recently have received or will soon receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Our prayers are with you as you grow in faith!

Just a gentle reminder regarding the morning carline. As we do in the afternoon, we have two lines that come into the parking lot and maneuver through the space. One line circles up close to the sidewalk in front of middle school to drop off and the other loops and stops in front of the school to drop off students in the primary grades. Today, I witnessed no less than half a dozen cars cutting across the teacher parking area and pulling up in front of the school. The only cars that should make that cut are teachers parking in the front of the school area, cars utilizing the handicapped spots, or persons that have purchased the reserved spots in the front of the school. The carline was not backed up and there was no reason to break the rules. Please model proper rule following behavior for your children and help us keep the parking lot safe. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Blessings to you and yours especially during this holy season.

Pax et bonum,

Sue Styren, M.Ed.
