Dear HFCS Families & Friends,

May Crowning Honors Our Blessed Mother

A beloved tradition at Holy Family Catholic School is the annual May Crowning ceremony honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. This month, we continue our reverence for the Mother of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The May Crowning gives our students a special opportunity to honor Mary and give thanks for bringing the Prince of Peace into the world. Tomorrow our procession will begin at 9:45am , a statue of Mary will be crowned with an exquisite wreath of flowers by two eighth grade students.

Leading this year’s ceremony will be our eighth grade class, the second graders who recently received their First Holy Communion, and students in grades 3-5 who have received sacraments this year. Each child will have the chance to place a flower before the Blessed Mother’s statue.

Congratulations to the two middle school students who have been selected for the prestigious honor of crowning Mary! Their insightful essays on Mary’s role have earned them this recognition from the faculty. Well done! As we crown the Queen of Heaven, let us pray:

Pax et bonum,
