Dear HFCS Families & Friends,
As we approach Holy Week, I invite us all to embrace a life less focused on worldly distractions and more centered on faith, family, and community service. This sacred time calls us to step away from digital engagement and draw closer to our Lord through personal connection and reflection.
My divine Lord, You and You alone must become the focus of my life. You and You alone are of the greatest value in life. Help me to shed all earthly desires in life so that I will not fall into the temptations that lead to empty promises and so that I will embrace the true and fulfilling promises that come from You. Jesus, I trust in You.
I am deeply grateful for our exceptional faculty and staff, dedicated parents, and the tireless volunteers with our Parents in Education group, Advisory Board, and Strategic Planning committee. Your steadfast commitment and generous contributions have been instrumental in nurturing our school community. The strength of our Catholic education truly stems from this collaborative spirit, and I look forward to continuing our work together as we plan for the coming academic year and beyond.
As we prepare for next year, I want to share some staffing updates. We will be saying farewell to Mrs. Katie Hudson, our beloved 4th grade teacher, at the end of this term. Her dedication to our students has been exemplary, and finding a worthy successor is a top priority. Additionally, Mrs. Sharon Kavanaugh, our Director of Nutrition and culinary blessing, will be concluding her volunteer service. We are actively seeking candidates to fill these important roles, along with positions for two Preschool/PreK classroom aides and a Director of Aftercare.
While we have interviewed several promising candidates, we welcome your recommendations for individuals who would enrich our school community with their talents and commitment to Catholic education. Our goal is to complete the hiring process before the end of May. Should you have questions or suggestions, please feel free to visit my office, or contact me via email, text, or phone.
May this Holy Triduum draw us all closer to Christ’s redemptive sacrifice and the joyful promise of Easter morning.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
