Lenten Blessings

Dear HFCS Families & Friends,

I cannot believe that we already are in week 4 of Lent. This is a great time to reflect on our Lenten Journeys, make corrections to our course as necessary and finish up strong with our best Lent ever.

Over the course of the past two weeks HFCS was blessed to have two wonderful Penance Services with our fabulous parish priests, Fr. Sleeva, Fr. Len, Fr. Mariusz and Fr. Arrogyam. The children were reverent and faith-filled. I’m so very proud of each of them – and their teachers who inspire them in their faith each day.

Last week we had a visit from the Diocese of Boise Superintendant of Catholic Schools. She was quite impressed with our students. In reviewing school standings, the students’ standardized test scores put us well above the local school district, our enrollment is consistently good, and our students are visibly faithfilled. After the school visit we looked at potential properties for a Northern Idaho Diocesan High School – as that project proceeds, I will keep you posted. As the week rolled to a close, I met with the principals in the norther region as well as the superintendant and we discussed upcoming professional development for all of our staff, as well as HB-93 and how we can support our families in pursuing the School Choice opportunites afforded via the bill. As we get more information, I will pass it along to you.

If you have not already purchased tickets for the Gala on May 2nd you might want to follow the link below to purchase your tickets. They are going fast. Thank you to all our Volunteers that help make this event possible.

Blessings to all of your families as we continue through our Lenten season.

Pax et bonum,

Sue Styren, M.Ed.
