Dear HFCS Families & Friends,
As we enter the beautiful season of Advent, we are reminded of the profound message of hope that lies at the heart of this sacred time. In Catholic tradition, the first week of Advent is specifically dedicated to hope—a beacon of light that illuminates our path and prepares our hearts for the coming of Christ. It is a time of anticipation, reflection, and spiritual preparation, inviting us to look forward with joyful expectation to the celebration of Christ’s birth.
This week brings several important events to our school community. First, we will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences, providing an opportunity for meaningful dialogue about your child’s progress and growth. We are tremendously grateful to our Parents in Education group, who continue to support our teachers by providing refreshments and snacks during these conferences. Their thoughtfulness helps keep our educators energized and motivated.
A few quick reminders:
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this week
- The Book Fair is currently running in the library
- After-school science class will temporarily meet in the gymnasium due to conference scheduling
We would also like to celebrate a musical milestone – our Jazz Ensemble has begun its first week of performances under the direction of Mr. D’Angelo. To our students who have joined this ensemble, we encourage you to embrace this wonderful opportunity to explore the rich, improvisational world of jazz. Music is a beautiful form of expression, and we are excited to see you grow and develop your talents.
May this first week of Advent fill your homes with hope, peace, and anticipation of the joyous season ahead.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
