Dear HFCS Families & Friends,

The Jubilee Year – our Year of Hope – dawned on Christmas Eve as Pope Francis opened the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica. In his inspiring letter, our Holy Father writes, “For everyone, may the Jubilee be a moment of genuine, personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, the ‘door’ (cf. Jn 10:7.9) of our salvation, whom the Church is charged to proclaim always, everywhere and to all as ‘our hope’ (1 Tim 1:1).”

For those seeking to deepen their understanding of this blessed time, detailed information about the 2025 Jubilee can be found on the Vatican website (iubilaeum2025.va) and the U.S. Bishops’ website (usccb.org/jubilee2025).

As we embrace 2025, let us seek the Holy Family’s blessing and guidance. This New Year offers us a precious moment to thank God for His abundant graces in the past while seeking His divine blessing for the path ahead.

My heart overflows with gratitude for our entire Holy Family Catholic School community – our devoted families, selfless volunteers, dedicated council and committee members, committed PIE members, supportive parishes, faithful deacons, shepherding priests, and our exceptional faculty and staff. Your unwavering commitment to fostering both faith and academic excellence makes our school truly extraordinary. Your prayers and support continue to be our foundation and inspiration.

The living presence of Jesus and His eternal message resonate as powerfully today as they did when He walked among us. He remains God’s most precious gift to humanity, illuminating our path just as He did two thousand years ago for those who sought His presence. As we step into this new year, let us hold fast to this fundamental truth of our faith.

As 2025 unfolds before us, we may occasionally find ourselves challenged to maintain hope and steadfast faith amid life’s complexities. We might wonder how to model hope and faith for our school community, our precious children, and our parishes. In these moments, let us remember that communal prayer offers us a blessed pathway to strengthen both our faith and hope.

When families join together in prayer, they participate in a transformative experience that draws them closer not only to God but to one another. I warmly invite you to unite with our Holy Family Catholic School family in prayer for a grace-filled 2025.

May the LORD bless you and keep you!

May the LORD let His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!

May the LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace!

Blessed New Year 2025!

Pax et bonum,

Sue Styren, M.Ed.
