Dear Friend of Holy Family,
The Catholic school is located at the heart of the Church. This ecclesial dimension is not a mere adjunct, but is a proper and specific attribute, a distinctive characteristic which should penetrate and inform every moment of its educational activity. Catholic schools intrinsically have their place within the organic pastoral work of the parish church community, integrated with and providing the largest educational ministry of the parish. This places Holy Family Catholic School squarely within a spiritual, ecclesial, and Christological framework for the St. George, Pope St. Pius X, and St. Thomas the Apostle parishes. As Pope St. John Paul II stated, “The ultimate goal of all Catholic education is salvation in Jesus Christ.” It should be our common hope and prayer that Catholic education never loses sight of that compelling vision of faith.
My name is Sue Styren, and I am your new principal at Holy Family Catholic School. I am honored to lead and serve an institution that has been the heartbeat of North Idaho for over 25 years, its reach and impact extending beyond the school grounds into our parishes, our community, and our world. Holy Family is a place where the teaching and practice of the Catholic faith are lived every day. Working in partnership, teachers and parents nourish the gifts uniquely given to each child by God, focusing on the whole person—spirit, mind, and body. This environment promotes academic excellence built on the principles of faith, service, stewardship, moral development, leadership, and community, laying a foundation that points the way for students to reach their full potential while also preparing them for eternal life.
Holy Family was founded upon the premise of welcoming all families seeking a high-quality, faith-based education for their child(ren), regardless of their economic means. In fact, we grant over $200,000 in tuition assistance to our families annually. Holy Family does not receive direct subsidies from the Diocese of Boise or the local parishes to help fund these scholarships. Instead, we humbly rely on gifts made to our SUCCESS (Standing Up for Continuing Catholic Education Supporting Students) Annual Campaign to help bridge the gap.
I invite you to please take this opportunity to show your commitment to Catholic education by prayerfully making your intention, one-time, or recurring gift to Holy Family’s 2021 SUCCESS Annual Campaign today. Every gift truly makes a difference. God bless you and thank you for your support.
Pax et Bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
Principal, Holy Family Catholic School
P.S. Gifts made to Holy Family’s SUCCESS Annual Campaign are tax deductible and qualify for the Idaho educational tax credit.
