Dear Friend of Holy Family,
The pandemic has hit hard at Holy Family Catholic School. Not only were we forced to close our building to our students last spring, but we also lost fundraising income, rental income, daycare income, and more. In preparing for reopening this fall, we had to upgrade technology and purchase cleaning supplies, protective equipment, etc. to make our building safe for our students, teachers, and staff. Enrollment is down significantly for 2020-21 as some of our families have opted to home school this year. For those families who are returning, financial hardship has hit harder than ever before, increasing the need for tuition assistance. As we continue to innovate and plan so that we can provide a high-quality, faith-based education for our students, I appeal to you for your help.
Our SUCCESS Annual Campaign is critical to our school. We use SUCCESS funds as scholarships for our students—which allows us to accept every student who wishes to join our community regardless of their family’s financial situation. These funds allow us to pay our excellent teachers and staff a fair and just wage. They allow us to maintain our beautiful facility. They allow us to fulfill our mission to promote excellence in education—both spiritually and academically—for the whole person, thereby nourishing the gifts uniquely given to each by God.
When we closed our building last spring during the height of the pandemic, we didn’t miss a step. Our amazing teachers moved instruction online seamlessly in two days. Our students continued to learn, grow, and thrive. We live streamed Mass every Wednesday. We celebrated our students’ successes through a virtual Spirit Week, a drive- through Kindergarten graduation, and a wonderful 8th Grade Mass and graduation celebration. Our teachers, staff, students, parents, and priests rose to the occasion and made a difficult situation one full of joy and community.
This year is Holy Family’s 25th anniversary. We never dreamed we’d be celebrating this milestone under these circumstances. We must address the pandemic and its effects on our school daily; SUCCESS can help us continue our excellent work. Catholic Education in North Idaho is a miracle; it was created by generous donors like you.
Our students are our purpose; we strive to lead them toward knowledge, wisdom, and most importantly, a deep and lasting faith. They deserve our support, our love, and our compassion; our children are the real victims of the society the pandemic has shaped. Please, support our students. Support our mission. Support Catholic education in North Idaho. Please pledge your support for Holy Family Catholic School this year. We are forever grateful for your generosity and your love. You are in our prayers.
