Middle School English Language Arts

Biography

I am blessed to be the Holy Family Catholic School English Language Arts middle school teacher. Previously, I taught English Language Arts and Religion for seventh graders at a Catholic school in Oregon. Before that, I taught English Language Arts at a Catholic high school, also in Oregon. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of Portland and hold a current teaching license with an endorsement in English Language Arts.

While growing up, my parents encouraged me and my siblings to practice our Catholic faith and its beautiful traditions. Part of this was sending us to Catholic schools for our education. For 17 years, from first grade all the way through graduate school, I attended Catholic schools. Going to Catholic schools for my entire educational career shaped me into a faithful person and teacher, and it led me and my family to become strong supporters of Catholic schools. As a teacher, I am committed to fostering a love for learning, reading, and writing, as well as a love for God and our Catholic faith.

My husband and I have three sons who have either attended or still attend Holy Family Catholic School. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my children. Together, we enjoy outdoor activities such as sports, gardening, hiking, swimming, and skiing, or simply spending time with our many pets. I also enjoy reading and practicing our faith.
