Blog – Month of the Rosary

Dear HFCS Families & Friends,

October holds a special place in our liturgical year as we honor Our Blessed Mother through the devotion of the Holy Rosary. Through this powerful prayer, we contemplate the life of Christ through Mary’s eyes, meditating on the joyful, luminous, sorrowful, and glorious mysteries that draw us closer to her Son. Today, October 7th, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, commemorating the miraculous victory at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, which was attributed to the faithful praying the Rosary. This month invites us all to deepen our spiritual lives through this timeless devotion, seeking Mary’s intercession as we grow in faith.

PIE, the HFCS Parent Group, is once again leading our World’s Finest Chocolate Sale this month. This beloved fundraiser is a delicious way to support our school’s programs and initiatives. We encourage all families to participate enthusiastically and help make this year’s sale a sweet success!

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, faculty, and staff who continue to volunteer their time for the SUCCESS program. Your generous commitment embodies the spirit of Christian service and is invaluable in supporting our school’s mission to provide excellent Catholic education.

We encourage all families to pledge to the SUCCESS program if you haven’t already done so. This initiative is crucial to our ability to provide quality Catholic education to all families in our region. We also warmly invite extended family members and parishioners to consider pledging their support, helping us build a strong foundation for our school community.

Our faculty recently attended the St. John Henry Newman Conference for Catholic Educators in Moscow, and it was a wonderful opportunity for professional and spiritual growth. The time spent collaborating with educators from four other northern Idaho Catholic schools was enriching, and our teachers are excited to bring new insights and inspiration into the classroom as we all work together to draw closer to God.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in education. Together, with God’s grace, we are shaping the future one student at a time.

Pax et bonum,

Sue Styren, M.Ed.
