Dear Families, Parishioners, and Friends,
As we celebrate the hope and renewal of a new year, the faculty and staff of Holy Family Catholic School extend our warmest wishes to you and your families during this blessed Christmas season. May the light of Christ continue to illuminate your hearts and homes.
We are truly grateful to welcome several new families into our school community—both those who joined us before the Christmas break and those beginning their journey with us this January. As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to practice the virtue of hospitality that reflects the welcoming love of the Holy Family. I encourage each of you to reach out to our newest families with warmth and fellowship, helping them feel embraced by our Catholic community.
Together, we are one family—brothers and sisters united in Christ. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and enlighten us, showering us with His seven gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord as we walk together on our faith journeys.
I am deeply moved by the extraordinary generosity you demonstrated during Advent. Through your compassionate giving, we exceeded our expectations for the 2nd Grade Advent collection benefiting the St. Vincent de Paul Warming Center. Your actions beautifully reflect Christ’s call to serve “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). As we move through the remainder of the school year, please keep our second-grade students in your prayers as they prepare their hearts for the sacred sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion—important milestones in their spiritual development.
I want to inform you of enhancements we’ve made to our grade reporting system for students in grades 4 through 8. Beginning this week, parents will receive weekly summaries of student grades, as well as timely notifications regarding absences, missing assignments, or incomplete work. These improvements reflect our commitment to fostering transparent communication and partnership with families throughout each trimester. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Finally, I wish to express heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and generosity you showed to our faculty and staff during the Christmas season. We are truly blessed to serve such a warm, loving, and faith-filled community. May God grant you and your loved ones abundant blessings of health, peace, and joy throughout 2026.
A New Year Prayer
Holy Father, God of our yesterdays, our today, and our tomorrows. We praise You for Your unequaled greatness.
Thank You for the year behind us and for the year ahead.
Help us in Your new year, Father, to fret less and laugh more.
To teach our children to laugh by laughing with them.
To teach others to love by loving them.
Knowing, when Love came to the stable in Bethlehem, He came for us.
So that Love could be with us, and we could know You.
That we could share Love with others.
Help us, Father, to hear Your love song in every sunrise, in the stories of our old folks, and the fantasies of our children.
We pray for peace, for light, and for hope, that we might spread them to others.
We accept Your gift of a new year and we rejoice in what’s ahead, depending on You to help us do exactly what You want.
Amen.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
