“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20
Dear HFCS Families & Friends,
As we continue to grow in faith and knowledge together this school year, we invite you to join us for several important upcoming events that strengthen our school community.
Back to School Night – Come and See!
We warmly invite all parents to attend our Back to School Night events, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet our dedicated faculty and learn about the wonderful programs that nurture both the minds and souls of our students.
Middle School Back to School Night
Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00 PM
Parents of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are invited to join us for an evening of connection and discovery. You’ll have the chance to renew your acquaintance with our returning faculty, Miss Sells and Mr. Turner and meet our new middle school staff Mrs. Sundholm, Mrs. Flynn, and Mr. Smith.
The evening will begin with a general welcome in the gymnasium, followed by six breakout sessions in individual classrooms. This format ensures you’ll meet with all of your child’s teachers and hear about their exciting programs for the year ahead.
Primary Grades Back to School Night
Thursday, September 18th at 6:00 PM
Parents of students in grades 5 and under are invited to this special evening designed specifically for our younger learners. The night will feature two focused sessions, giving teachers the opportunity to share:
- Classroom background and teaching philosophy
- Daily routines and expectations
- Exciting events planned throughout the year
Playground Renovation – Building God’s Kingdom Together
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1
We’re excited to invite parents to join our playground renovation planning team! Please join us on Wednesday, October 8th at 3:30 PM in the school library to be part of this meaningful project.
Thanks to God’s blessings and your generous support at last year’s Gala, we raised over $11,000 toward this renovation. We believe in the importance of involving our entire community – parents, faculty, and staff – in designing a playground that will provide a safe, beautiful space for our students to play and grow.
While we understand this project may unfold over several years with Phase One and Phase Two implementations, we’re committed to creating a playground that enhances our students’ academic day and reflects the joy found in God’s creation.
Please see the sign-up sheet later in this newsletter if you’re interested in joining our planning team.
Gratitude and Service Opportunities
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all parents who volunteer throughout our school community. Your service reflects Christ’s call to love one another through action.
Safety Committee – Protecting Our Little Ones
Our Safety Committee is seeking volunteers to serve as security monitors during morning and afternoon hours. If you feel called to help protect and serve our school family, please reach out to us. We’ll provide all necessary training and support.
Hawktober Spirit Week & Hawktoberfest
Beginning next week, we’ll celebrate our annual Hawktober Spirit Week, culminating with Hawktoberfest on Saturday, September 27th. This beloved tradition brings our community together in fellowship and fun.
Events like Hawktoberfest require many helping hands to succeed. If you’re looking for ways to contribute your time and talents while earning volunteer hours, we encourage you to sign up for one of the many available positions listed below in this newsletter.
“In all things, give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
We’re grateful for each family that makes our school community so special. Together, we continue to build a place where faith, learning, and love flourish.
Pax et bonum,
Sue Styren, M.Ed.
