We live, we follow, we love like Jesus

with our hearts, minds, and bodies.

We speak, we listen, we learn like Jesus

with our hearts, minds, and bodies.

We serve, we respect, we act with courage

with our hearts, minds, and bodies.

We represent Holy Family Catholic School

with our hearts, minds, and bodies.

The Story Behind Our Pledge…

The teachers at HFCS were meeting at the beginning of the 2015-16 school year.  We were gearing up for accreditation, and we wanted a way to ensure that our students understood the Student Learning Expectation (SLEs) that are required by the Western Catholic Education Association, our accrediting agency.  We divided into three groups, each with different SLEs to ponder, hoping that we could transform them into student-friendly language that would engage the very youngest student but not alienate the oldest.

When it came time to share, one of the groups had written their SLEs into what is now our second stanza of the HFCS pledge.  It was like a fire of inspiration came over the staff at that moment, and the rest of the pledge rapidly took shape with eager voices sharing suggestions, modifications, and enhancements until our pledge was born.

Ms. Sells, our 8th grade teacher, offered to create posters, which still hang around our school.

Our pledge serves many purposes:  to unite us, to guide us, to inspire us.  It also promotes citizenship, enhances discipline, and increases our school spirit.  Join us as we live our pledge to “represent Holy Family Catholic School, with our hearts, minds, and bodies!”

School Prayer

Our school prayer invokes the protection of our patrons, the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. It is a powerful reminder of our reliance on God and His grace for our school.
