School Profile

Mission

The mission of our Roman Catholic school is to provide excellence in education – both spiritually and academically – for the whole person, thereby nourishing the gifts uniquely given to each by God.

Spirit

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” ~Matthew 18:20

Student life consists of our students participating in religion classes daily. Each morning, we gather for prayer; our elementary students gather in the commons and the middle school gathers in the gym. We listen to a scripture reading, pray for intentions, and end in prayer together. On Fridays, the whole school gathers together to pray; on the first Friday of each month, we use this time together to pray the Rosary. On Wednesday mornings, we celebrate Mass together as a community. Our pastors, Fr. Sleeva Raju Madanu (St. George’s), Fr. Len MacMillan (Pope St. Pius X), Fr. John Mosier (St. Thomas), and Fr. Arogyam Madanu (St. Joseph/St. Stanislaus in the St. George community) take turns celebrating Mass with us. The Blessed Sacrament lives on campus with us in our quaint chapel.

Mind

“Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.”  ~Romans 12:2

Our school is built for learning! From our primary grades, where hands-on learning reigns, to our 4th-8th grades, who have a one-to-one Chromebook environment, academic excellence is our goal. Our science lab hosts students of all ages for experiments, lectures, and even art! Students can find quality literature for all reading levels in our library and can practice their keyboarding skills in our computer lab. Highly qualified teachers lead engaging lessons in reading, math, science, social studies, handwriting, and, of course, religion.

Body

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” ~1 Corinthians 3:16

A key component to any learning environment is the focus on the physical and mental well-being of our students. HFCS has PE classes for all grades and offers competitive sports after school. At recess, students can play on our playground or avail themselves of our soccer field. We participate in the National School Lunch Program, and pride ourselves on serving delicious and healthy meals to our students.

Please take some time to come and visit our school. You will see excellence in education—both spiritually and academically—for the whole student: spirit, mind, and body!
