Hawktoberfest is October 24th!
Looking for a fun way for your family to spend a Friday evening while also helping out those in need in the community? If the answer is yes, then Hawktoberfest is the ticket for you. Join us at HFCS on October 24th from 5:30-8:30 p.m., where kids ages one to 101 can enjoy exciting carnival games, fun prizes, a jump house and pizza dinner.
HFCS Student Excels at Jiu Jitsu
HFCS 4th grader Marco Lenhart recently brought home his fourth championship in Brazilian jiu jitsu/submission grappling this year after he won the North American Grappling Association's Northern California Grappling Championship on September 27. Jiu jitsu/grappling is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that teaches skills in defeating an opponent by taking them to the ground and applying joint-locks and choke holds. Marco is also the 2014 Idaho State Champion, 2014 AKA Open Champion and 2014 Budo Cup Champion.
3rd Graders Visit Mobius
Mrs. Anderson's 3rd grade class visited Mobius Science Center in Spokane this week, where they learned about fluid dynamics, flight and engineering, the human body, and space, among other things. They also enjoyed the center's visiting exhibit, "A T-Rex Named Sue," which included a full-size replica of the most complete and preserved Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton discovered to date.
