Congrats, Class of 2014!
HFCS 8th graders closed a chapter in their lives last Thursday evening as family and friends gathered to celebrate and wish them well during a graduation ceremony held at St. Pius X. The next morning, the class departed on their 8th grade trip for a weekend filled with adventure, fun and community service. Didn’t get a chance to say goodbye? No worries, the 8th graders will be the special guests this Thursday at the final Mass of the year, held at 9:30 a.m. in the school gym.
HFCS Choir Visits St. Thomas
Parishoners at St. Thomas were treated to a surprise on Sunday, June 8, when members of the HFCS performing choir—accompanied by musicians Ms. Arkoosh and Mrs. Bukowski, stood in for the regular choir group at the 10 a.m. Mass. The kids received several rounds of applause from the audience and heartfelt accolades from Fr. Crowley for their performance. Way to go, Hawks!!
History in a Nutshell
History got a lot more exciting last week when Mrs. Snow’s 5th grade class culminated its study of the events of the American Revolution by performing the musical, “13 Colonies,” for their families. Featuring an assortment of characters including Native Americans, Vikings, our Founding Fathers and even a game show host, the cast delighted its audience with witty dialog and catchy tunes as they told the story of how the USA came to be. Great job, 5th grade!
