5th Grade Gives to Sally's House
In honor of their class patron saint, Saint Nicholas, Mrs. Snow’s 5th graders recently searched their closets and drawers at home for gently used arts and crafts supplies to donate to Sally’s House--an emergency home for ages 2 to 20 in Spokane. The students sorted and bundled the various supplies—including markers, stickers, mason jars, etc.—and made cards to include with the donation.
Knights Donate to Endowment
On March 12, Gary Mladjan with the Knights of Columbus—St. Pius Council presented a check for $450 to HFCS student council president JoJo Jaeger and principal Bridgit Arkoosh. The Knights raised the funds through a “hash brown breakfast” served on February 16 at St. Pius X in Coeur d’Alene. The proceeds are earmarked for the Fr. Rassley Endowment Fund, which goes toward the school's operating expenses.
Cecil Pays a Visit to HFCS
NIC’s mascot Cecil visited Preschool-4th grade students at Holy Family Catholic School on March 13. Cecil, along by NIC communications and marketing director Stacy Hudson, read The Lion and the Little Red Bird by Elisa Kleven to the group, passed out “high fives” and posed for photos with each class. Cecil and Hudson travel around to local schools encouraging kids to read, stay active and have fun.
